On the North Sea coast, Eemshaven is the Netherlands’ main energy port and of great importance to Northwest Europe. The port delivers approximately 8,000 MW of energy production, supports international energy supply, and hosts an intensive offshore wind industry. This energy hub plays an essential role in the European living environment, both socially and economically.
The expansion of Eemshaven was a highly ambitious project, and we were proud to contribute. Our dedicated team worked 24/7 with heavy equipment to complete all tasks within a short period. After just two days, our largest dredger was fully operational.
An electrically driven submersible pump (4,500 m³ mixture per hour) was put into operation, allowing us to pump sand relatively cleanly and quietly. This enabled highly sustainable working practices while delivering large volumes with optimal performance. Using a specially designed trailing hopper, a tolerance of 30 cm was achieved. The material was sprayed via high-pressure pipelines into the designated areas behind the quay walls for industrial expansion.
