Stausee Vermunt, Austria’s oldest reservoir, requires regular maintenance to ensure the proper functioning of the dam and turbines.
Smals has been removing fine sediment here for many years, aiming to prevent silt from accumulating in the work area during future renovations.
Using various (electric) deep dredgers and associated equipment, the sediment is carefully removed, ensuring safe access to the dam and turbine installations. Regular dredging allows maintenance at great depth to be carried out efficiently and safely for both machinery and personnel.
