Dredging is tough work. It places considerable demands on the people involved, but also, of course, on the equipment. Specialists make sure it is kept in top condition.
Installations, suction dredgers, ships, pumps, floating pipelines, ground compressors, generators, etc. all have to work exactly as intended – in all weather. This is crucial to ensure safety, protect the environment and avoid disruptions. Maintenance, repairs and improvements are therefore areas on which we constantly focus our attention. Our own workshop is an essential part of the Smals service. Experts from a wide range of disciplines make sure everything works and continues to work perfectly. They are quick to respond if a fault is identified during a job. They also inspect the equipment after use and repeat this process before it is sent out again. Everything is checked and double-checked.
