The Smals family founded its business in 1885. For six generations we have worked to develop our service and meet demands from society.
Dredging for building materials, improving waterways, reducing water-related risks and restoring the natural environment are at the heart of our organisation. Sustainability and environmental friendliness are key considerations for us, along with quality monitoring and the pursuit of innovation. This approach saw our family company granted the right to use the designation ‘Royal’ in 2010, the year of our 125th anniversary, and we are extremely proud to include this in our name.
